Trenton Colonial Exhibit

Three case exhibit for the Hamilton Library

for the month of May, 2024

Case 1

            Will contain examples of all 23 denominations of Continental Currency issued by the Continental Congress (1775 – 1779) to fund our Revolution. 

Case 2

            Will contain issues of Continental Currency signed by Morris family members of the Philadelphia Militia (Associators) who fought in the Second Battle of Trenton and the Princeton Battle.  One family member died on the Princeton battlefield on Jan 3, 1777

Case 3

            Will contain examples of NJ bills of 1776.  One was captured at the Abbott House December 9, 1776 by the British Army.  One signed by John Hart – a NJ signer of the Declaration of Independence.

The exhibits will be installed on the morning of May 1st and removed on the afternoon of May 31st.  The exhibits are being displayed by the Trenton Numismatic Club, which meets at the library every 4th Monday of the month (open to the public).
